Set out on a scenic one-hour hike from Uummannaq with a local guide, taking in stunning views of the Uummannaq Fjord and nearby peaks. The walk ends at a charming red hut built in traditional Greenlandic style, said in Danish and Greenlandic tradition to be Santa’s true Arctic home.

Practical information

  • Remarks/requirements: Dress according to the weather and wear sturdy hiking boots. Bring a water bottle. Mosquito nets and insect repellent are necessary in July and August.

  • Extras: Camera, any necessary medicines.

  • Walking or Activity information: Approx. 5–6 km hike. The trail has loose rocks and steep sections. In some areas, you may need to climb up or down using both hands.
